David is our resident news hound on a morning here at Minster Northallerton

Name: David Ward

Likes: Sport, sport and sport

Dislikes:. I'm pretty laid back, really, so can't think of anything I dislike... Well, apart from nuts, but that's because I'm allergic to them. Oh, and the month of June - flippin' hayfever!

Best Film:. "Big trouble little China"

Best TV show: "Soccer Saturday", presented by the legend that is Jeff Stelling

Best TV commercial: . That one with the rubber floor is quite good...

Best crisps: McCoys

Best place in North Yorkshire:. York - is there anywhere else?! If you want me to be more specific, Bootham (Kit-Kat) Crescent!

Favourite smell: Freshly cut grass (at The Crescent)

When I was a kid I always wanted to be: . Sports commentator

Most famous person I’ve ever met: Rafe Parker. Seriously, though, in my line of work you get to meet some quite famous people - depends which circles you mix in, but I've met Darren Lehmann, Kevin Pietersen, Trevor Brooking, David Blunkett. And I was stood up by William Hague a few weeks ago...

I couldn’t live without: My wife (She paid me to say that. The real thing I couldn't live without is York City FC, of course!)

The TV character who’s most like me: . This is a tricky one. In a job interview I once said the superhero I was most like was Batfink, because he has wings of steel - does that count?

I’ve never laughed so much as when… Oooh... "Gavin and Stacey" on BBC3 made me laugh quite a lot recently. My wife's jokes do not make me laugh - she thinks she's funny, though...

When I’m not on the radio I can be found… Either at the home of football, Bootham Crescent (what do you mean "where's that?") or Headingley Stadium watching Yorkshire play cricket

If I was an electrical appliance, I would be a What kind of bizarre question is this?!

If I had one wish, it would be: For York City to win promotion to the Premiership. Okay then, any promotion would do!

Me in three words: David Terence Ward
